In this position, you will operate safely within transportation laws and regulations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries that align with our commitment to excellent service. Safely operate a tractor-trailer/commercial motor vehicle to transport goods and materials according to schedule Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Plan routes and meet delivery schedules as directed by the logistics team Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and ensure that goods are loaded correctly onto the truck Collect and verify delivery instructions, and report any discrepancies or incidents Maintain communication with dispatch to ensure updates on location and traffic are provided Handle paperwork involved with the transport of goods, ensuring all delivery documents are signed and complete Proven work experience as a truck driver Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB) Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Must have a clean driving record DOT medical card Advanced training or specialization in transportation safety is preferred
